My very first friend when I moved to Lincoln remains one of my dearest! She and her family, a few years ago, built a gorgeous house on 6 acres in York. They are slowly building up their farm (a dairy cow soon! So exciting!), but for now have 10 hens and a rooster. So, on this visit, not only did we get to play and enjoy good food and chat time, but we got to go in the coop and snag our own eggs (2 dozen!). We learned so much about chickens! Such as, the color of the egg depends on the color of the hens feet! Eli didn't want to go in the coop, he was having too much fun building train tracks!
