July 4th

For the 4th, we drove down to San Antonio to visit Brody's sister Remkea as well as Marli, Ron, Gay & Laurel who had driven down for a mini vacation. We had lots of fun spending time with everyone- we haven't seen them in quite some time. The kids played with Rem's Mardi Gras beads and we even did a hair-braiding train! Laurel shared some of her firecrackers with the boys/ They all had so much fun throwing and stepping on them. The boys loved the fire works, too. Rem is a teacher at a Lutheran School in San Antonio and her school is located just beyond Six Flags Fiesta Texas, so we were able to see those fireworks from her school parking lot. Korben said his favorites were blue and white. Eli was half asleep through the show, but seemed to enjoy what he saw. They both, of course, woke up at their normal time the next day and were pretty cranky. But, it was worth it to share that experience with them and to hang out with the Ockander's.
